With the help of self-paced courses students can earn college credit by taking correspondence or online courses at their own pace. It is possible to enroll at any time of the year. Self-paced courses are taught from a distance, no class attendance is required.
Introduction to Parks, Recreation and Tourism (Self-paced Correspondence). It is an introduction to the professional field of recreation by presenting the basic principles, fundamentals, and concepts of recreation as related to: recreation history and objectives, sociological and economic aspects of recreation, leadership qualities and facility provision, and settings for organized recreation in modern society. Credits for this course are granted by the NC State University. The course consists of 3 credit hours, 12 submitted assignments.
