History of the Blues. This course traces the history of the blues and the sociological changes influencing its evolution, from the earliest field "hollers" and folk ballads to the hard-driving, amplified urban blues in Chicago. Jazz, a musical form that developed out of the blues, is also traced. You can enroll into this course anytime. You will need up to one year to complete it.
